Large Antique French Buffet, 1900, Henry II, Cobalt Blue Stained Glass,Walnut

This very large antique French buffet features stunning cobalt blue stained glass doors! Dating to 1900 and crafted of walnut in the Henry II style, youll note exceptional, architectural-style carvings on this piece, including a beautiful cornice and pediment at the top with a shell motif, side columns on both the upper and lower portions of the buffet, and a coat-of-arms motif on the lower doors. The proportions of this antique buffet are really lovely; it doesnt have that bottom-heavy appearance that some buffets have, and its nearly five feet wide, which offers you a lot of surface area for display purposes. The stunning stained glass doors feature small panes of cobalt blue glass (two of which have been replaced) accented by deep amber pieces. Both the top and bottom sections of the buffet offer a wealth of storage for your china or linens, and a pair of drawers provide a place to tuck away your silverware, napkins, candles -- or any other small items. Condition: Shows normal wear to the finish, spots and rings on the top surface, and miscellaneous nicks, dings, and scratches due to age and use. There are scratches on the bottom apron, right below the two lower doors. There is a crack in a glass panel at the top left corner of the right top door and two blue panels have been professionally restored on the left door. There is a difference in color visible when white paper is placed behind the stained glass doors, as in the photos. However, if the white paper is removed, you cannot see the color difference in the restored glass. There is also a slight bow in the front left column on the upper cabinet that is only noticeable from the side.
